Tent camping

After checking out some of the other Blogs around here. I better get going and add something interesting to this Blog, or it will be called  boring Blog. I have lots of things to add. Just having a little trouble deciding where to start, and what to add. Lets see... That courtyard is in Sedona, AZ. Can't camp there.
The National Forest campground at Chapman Dam is a great place to camp. You will need a tent, a sleeping bag, a camp stove, some camp cookware and when it gets dark, a lantern.
By the way, Chapman Dam is in Colorado. This campground is on the Frying Pan River at an elevation of 8200 ft. Spent the summer of 2009 as campground host. A terrific place to camp and meet lots of nice people from around the mid-West and beyond.

November! Gone!

Wow! It seems November flew by. No sooner started and it's gone. Camping activity no doubt slowed and folks stayed home from fishing to get set for the Thanksgiving holiday. Now that the holiday rush for Thanksgiving is past. The new rush for Christmas is upon us. Tents, fishing gear, stoves and lanterns are really good items for gift giving for the outdoorsman/woman out there. Nice warm sleeping bags are always welcome. No matter what time of year it is a new lantern is a thoughtful item for the camper. A tent for shelter and privacy is something all campers need.

Backpacking

There is a large following of campers who enjoy hiking to remote camping areas. When backpacking light weight is the thing. Single person or two person tent. The one man tents are small and provide limited space for you and your gear. Some prefer using a two man tent just for the extra space for all the gear. Mostly to keep it inside and dry. As well as room for your hiking partner, Small and light weight stoves and cookware are important for this kind of camping experience. Many hikers make their destinations back country lakes for fishing.

It's starting to feel like Fall here in Northern California. A tent and warm sleeping bag is essential to comfortable camping. Fishing is popular all year long. Trout, Striped Bass, large mouth bass and many other species are available here in the Fall and Winter. Even ocean fishing, Crabbing is in season now. What is better than fresh Crab? It's good to have a boat but not necessary as there is a lot of bank to fish from. Lakes and rivers provide good fishing spots all around the North part of the state.
